My First Solo Wild Camp - It Hit Sub ZERO Degrees!

This was my FIRST solo wild camp and it was in the glorious Brecon Beacons National Park.

It was a rather cold one with the Met Office predicting sub zero conditions and being a few days before storm Eowyn, the weather got bad as the rain came in alongside the cold!

Regardless, it was a stunning camp with some beautiful scenery.

Tip from a fellow camper: Keep your batteries in a warm pocket close to your body. Then they don't get too cold to function during winter adventures. ;) Good job, keep it up!

As you progress, you can save on the food by buying ready or quick cook meal packs from supermarkets agumented by some chopoed veg or peas etc. I also find that good quality noodles or quick pasta with pre made sauces are grand.

First solo good stuff mate havnt had the chilli as I normally cook my own but agree I've had the all day breaky ones and they are pretty good nice spot for the night and the cat joke 😂 it was like one of them you got years back on a lolly stick 😂😂😂 nice relaxed camp marra

Nice video and a lovely spot. Just a quick observation. Not sure you have your tent pitched correctly. Maybe the poles were in the wrong slots? Every video ive seen of that tent is much higher than yours, so much so that you can sit up in it. I don't think i can post links but if you look at some videosof that tent you'll see what i mean. Anyway, just a suggestion, it's all a learning curve this wild camping malarkey 🤣 atb, Martin. (Great tip in water in the pan 👍)

Good Morning James, brilliant mate, congrats on your first solo wild camp. I did mine in my local hills last summer.
Firstly, Jesus wept, never try and make it as a comedian, shocking joke! 🤣
Secondly, I got some Ocoopa electronic hand warmers off the kids for Christmas, they are brilliant for walking and camping in the winter. If you fingers start to go cold, you just turn them on and hold them for five minutes and before long you can feel your digits again. I took them out on the golf course yesterday for the first time, superb mate.
