She is only handing it back because she knows she would be stripped of it if she didn't and that would be more damaging to her reputation and ego. The church need to look at her role in that organization given that she has clearly lied and covered up and broken her vows as a minister of religion. She should be removed from any church role. And she should also be facing court for her perjury. She should also be sanctioned for lying to Parliament.

I think a big thank you is due to ITV for their excellent drama bringing this dreadful situation to the general public, a public whose outrage is forcing a final conclusion . Otherwise it may still be unresolved for another twenty years .

Families of those who died need to receive same compensation for their suffering. Also they would have inherited the money the deceased were forced to pay the Post Office.

Around the time she took over the P.O. stopped the practise of porters taking parcels for tenants in the building - causing a real inconvenience & necessiating tenants having to travel to a P.O. to collect a parcel that had previously been left with the porter - no wonder people avoid using the post office.

Too right she should give it back !! She has lied and caused people's lives to be ruined. She should be locked up !!

I still maintain that Fujitsu UK Ltd should be sanctioned and fined such that 1) the amount of the fine substantially affects the go-forward profitability of its parent company in Japan, notably Fujitsū kabushiki gaisha (Fujitsu Ltd.) for at least the next five years 2) said fine effects a sale of Fujitsu UK Ltd and Fujitsu Services Holdings PLC to another entity such as Tata Group, or one of the big three consulting firms.

What I really do not understand is, over the years when they had updated this system, suddenly a massive spike of post masters apparently stealing money, why at not point did anyone look further into back then?

Is everyone aware that the post office isn’t the only government business that used Fujitsu software. What if there are other systems also had issues no one knows about.

Would it not have occurred to Ms Vennells that far too many people were being accused of the same crime. So investigate first.
