Potential Filasteria, Kraken, or other Cercozoa - Pt. 4

Показать описание
Video playback 16x.
Unknown Archaea or Filasterea in flagella-less Chlamydomonas reinhardtii culture. I originally believed this may be a Filasterea, but after some research this seems likely to be a syntrophic algal symbiont that consumes the metabolic efflux of algal fermentation. Given its small size and lack of any clear organelles, it may be an Archaea. It may also be part of the Asgard superphylum given papers I have read on its members often containing very similar cytoplasmic protrusions. Will be uploading more videos.
