2021 YZ 250X | Unboxing and First Ride

Picked up my brand new 2021 YZ 250X and got to assemble it right out of the crate. This is my first ever brand new bike and second YZ250.

The break in process consisted of 3 heat cycles and a mellow ride on some snowy double track shifting through all the gears and varying the RPMs. I ran motorex cross power 2t full synthetic premix at 40:1 for this first ride and will move to 50:1 after 5 gallons.

Overall the bike felt great and the KYB suspension was great right out of the box. I will probably end up switching out the rear spring to something rated for more weight from racetech or get the entire setup dialed in by TBT suspension but I will have to do more testing.

Parts on the way:
- Acerbis hand guards
- Moose racing skid plate. I had ordered the SXS Slide plate but do not want to have to drill in to my frame.
- Acerbis frame guards

Nice single track Riding I have the same bike I put a 48 tooth sprocket on the back and got rid of that 50 you will like it much better

How is this bike a true enduro bike?
And in what ways is it not?
It seems that it is just a YZ with a 5 speed transmission.
These are serious questions for me as I am in the market for what will probably be my last dirt bike.
Handling will be the most important consideration for me as I am pushing 60.

Just wandering how you were able to get it in a crate? When Yamaha tells you they recommend you going to one of their dealers for the equipment.

I am thinkin about trading my te300i in for a 250x..Good idea or bad idea??
