My 2020 yz250 ran rich from the dealer as well. I didnt buy it for racing so i just leaned er out a bit. But hey, if you are on it all the time she will clear up real quick.

May be rich for break in. I'm a marine mechanic. New mercury 2 strokes run double oil for the first few hrs for break in.

Keep it at the same mixture through like 10 hours. Then go to whatever mixture you think. I don’t own a 2 stroke so I can’t tell you what mixture. Have fun in your new toy🎉

Nice! How does Yamaha treat you now that you bought it?? Hopefully better than Kawasaki dealers!!

33:1 after break in. When you add more oil to mixture for example 25:1 you are actually leaning the air fuel mixture which is not good. Reason is because you are lessening the fuel ratio to relative to air as oil is replacing fuel for the given quantity.

bike looks brand new, he said something about 15:1 thats the ratio yamaha recommends during break in… its gonna smoke like a mfer

100 percent he doesn't know it needs coolant or gear and air filter oil

You need more air in the carb to make it more lean and help it

Oil mix has nothing to do with air to fuel ratio

Is this bike harder to kick start like does it take a hard ass kick to start it or it starts right up with 1 kick cause I seen people struggle with yz125 even to start the mf

It's being 50/1 has nothing to do with it being rich or lean tho if you ran it 32/1 it would lean it out.... Thicker fuel requires bigger jets
