How to make XI100DUSB-HDMI compatible with USB Capture Utility V3

The XI100DUSB-HDMI is the first generation product of the USB Capture HDMI Gen 2 developed by Magewell. XI100DUSB-HDMI cannot support the Utility V3. However, by upgrading the firmware of XI100DUSB-HDMI to convert it to USB Capture HDMI Gen 1, we can enable Utility V3 support. Then, the device can use the functions provided by Utility V3.

Why don't you just update the software to support backwards compatibility instead of making the user chase dodgy files? Also, I don't own neither windows or have USB2 ports, only 3. How can I proceed?

Hi, i own the Sdi version, this firmware just work with the Hdmi version? the Usccaptureutility software recognizes the Magewell, I have firmware version 1.29 but at all times I have the message of no signal, I have several firmware versions, may I have uploaded the wrong one? the Magewell model is: XI100DUSB-SDI

Hi ive just purchased a black Xl100DUSB-HDMI first generation capture device off of ebay. Will updating the firmware work on this device too as it has the same model number as the silver first generation device?

Hi does the Magewell XI100DUSB-HDMI Gen 1 Black device work with Windows 10? I have plugged it in and it is showing up as a webcam in device manager in Computer Management but when I connect my Gopro hero 4 there is No Signal. Also when in OBS it shows up as a video capture device and again just a black screen, no signal.

dumb thing put a video explaining how to do but not where to find the resources ....

Why not include the necessary firmware upgrade in the capture utility itself?
Also, why only a Upgrade.exe but nothing for mac or linux?
One could think you don't actually want to support your product... just sayin'
