RDJ is such an actor’s actor, y’know? I love how he took the mantle of “highest paid actor in hollywood” and turned it into this drive to support and advocate for all his fellow actors. I think part of it is that he played such a senior actor role for the MCU for so long that he became a real mother hen over time, and he’s just carried that out with him into other projects.

I love that he worried over Cillian and advocated for him to Nolan. That is freakin’ precious. But RDJ’s mother hen instincts must have been going off big time watching Cillian starving himself for the role and working so hard. Cillian already has sharp cheekbones and large eyes and a shy, humble demeanor. He must have been practically victorian-orphan levels of sympathetic during filming. No wonder RDJ was all a-flutter.
