Guys like this should not be broadcasting lack of knowledge - stupidity all over the internet.

Explanation:
1. You MUST not connect electrolytic capacitor to AC voltage, bipolar capacitor should be used instead
2. There always must be inductor connected in series with speaker and then capacitor connected in parallel with speaker and behind the inductor, otherwise impedance of the circuit is out of balance on audible spectrum of frequencies (20Hz-20kHz)
3. Connecting high capacity like 1mF directly to amplifier output is literally shortcutting the output and on higher frequencies and medium-high volume will burn the power amplifier

The capacitor in parallel acts like a short, how come it is ok now? Didn't the activ resonance go lower?

It does not make sense..You don't directly connect capacitors to speakers to improve sound quality. Capacitors are primarily used within amplifiers and speaker crossover networks, not directly on the speakers themselves.

Your putting more stress on the amplifire with this setup, use a crossover coil then use the capacitor.

It will damage your amp??i tried it to my 350w rms sub my amp was too hot, i put a 4700uf 50 volts..but when i make it in series my amp is in normal, no heating...
