Aker Solutions senior VP charged with cheating

A senior vice-president of an oil services company has claimed trial to a charge of cheating by making false representation involving the company’s ownership status.

Ahmad Hatta Kamaruzzaman, as an agent of Aker Solutions, was accused on Friday (June 11) of submitting documents with intent to cheat a local oil and gas company to enlist Syarikat Aker Engineering Malaysia as a company with Bumiputera status.

Aker Solutions is a Norwegian company. Asked to invest in Malaysia. After investment, they cannot bid project from Petronas becos only reserved for Bumi companies. Obviously this guy try to get some project...

Whatever the case, why would foreign companies invest in Malaysia when they cannot get major contracts?

Same case with car companies, if they invest big manufacturing plants here, they are not allowed to compete with Proton...

hmm... companies with petronas licence registered as bumi but not actually bumi .... such things can happen ? i thought petronas has procedures and safe guards against such things happening. but i guess anything can happen haha
