You know for the 3, 000 years of the existence of the Covenant it would be pretty interesting to have some stories of those day like the Covenant could have encountered a small machine faction that had a couple solar systems led by a Artificial defense system network that destroyed it's creators like Skynet did in Terminator and that would be a bigger reason why the Covenant restricted AI and the legend of Mendicant Bias would have set this incident as a example of what would happen if AI was created to those who had doubts of AI uprisings within the Covenant population.

Reminds me of the Dark, Middle & Renaissance age with our religious reformations from the Catholic Church due to the corruption. It mirrors alot of it in the Halo universe. I wonder in our universe, it's universal across countless civilizations in our galaxy that astrobiologist & other scientist are'nt asking the hard questions of spirituality, faith & religion in a cultural contents of a civilization. Many assume when a civilization gets technologically advance, we abandon it, I personally believe they don't. Life with purpose must be the very common universal thing.

I always thought the Prophet of Truth knew the great journey was BS because in H3 during the mission “Covenant” when Sgt. Johnson is captured and Truth attempted to use him to light the rings, Johnson says: “what, can’t start your own party?” And Truth replies: “I admit I need your help, but that secret dies with all the rest”... which I always took as clear evidence that not only did Truth falsely justify the war against humanity, which he did...but also by that point (maybe by interrogating 343 Guilty Spark), knew the great Journey was false and by keeping the myth a lie until the moment the Halos activated it would erase all of his lies. It’s as if he was so deep into his own lies at that point it was best to just kill everyone and end it all.

Sonething that ive always wondered (tho I’m not sure if this can be covered by the channel): what would’ve happened if the stoics beat the reformists, and then (presumably centuries later) met the sangheili? How would first contact differ, and what kind of covenant would be created from that union?
