Thankfully Rene Compean was found. He took a picture of where he was at and someone recognized the areas and sent the coordinates to Search and Rescue team

No one should ever go hiking, especially alone, without a charged up cell phone and a GPS tracker.

I’m not a hiker at all. But, for all those who are, PLEASE make sure your phone is fully charged and make it a priority to bring a back up charger bank. This is happening way too many times. God bless ALL. Be safe in every way.

ATTENTION!!! he has been found!! a man with a simple hobby of finding places that match pictures taken legit saved this guys life, i haven’t seen anything on youtube about it but if you look up his name the stories will pop up, amazing!!!

I was lost once while hiking right before my phone died I texted my husband to send help. They told him there was nobody around to help. I spent the night and hiked for 10 hours to find my way out. It’s very scary.

Tip # 1 bring extra powerbank
Tip # 2 research the area through blogs then make an itinerary
Tip 3 # know how to use compass, draw a map, or bring gps
Tip # 4 bring emergncy food, water, emergncy tent, first aid kit and other essentials
Tip 5 # dont hike alone

I wonder if the photo has a Geotag associated with it. If so, police may be able to narrow down his location depending on the accuracy of his phones GPS at the time.
