Martin or Gibson? Boxers or briefs? Who is the most famous person I've played with?

Today, we're doing an AMA (Ask Me Anything) episode where I'll be answering YOUR questions that you've been leaving in the comments on previous episodes.

In this episode, we'll dive deep into my personal life—from my love for hockey, to the books I enjoy reading, and even where some past employees at Tony's Acoustic Challenge are today. You'll get an intimate look at my musical upbringing, how it has shaped who I am today, and some fun stories along the way.

I remember playing hockey as a kid (street or ice) and whenever anyone made a great save someone would always yell 'Belfour' or 'Beaupre' (for Don Beaupre)') I still hear it in my head whenever I see a great save.

Thanks for responding to the bourbon question.Congratulations on the 3plus years, 39 here. Makes for a lucky, heart-full life where guitars sound even better. Grateful to you for all you have taught me about guitar joy.

Congratulations on your 3-1/2 years of sobriety!

Hey, Tony, I bought my 3-day pass to the Fretboard Summit. Looking forward to seeing Jorma & Tommy performing.

Hey Tony… Great show again. Loved the AMA! Just wanted to share my routine for watching… I grab my guitar, revisit Monday’s exercise, and then play it while watching… depending on the exercise, it helps me to relax and just let the exercise flow while watching Acoustic Tuesday. Cheers!

Hey, Tony! I've been watching for about 8 months and love the show. I just wanted to offer congratulations and two big thumbs up on your sobriety. Thank you for the time you put into developing each show and your dedication to helping others hone their skills. I've referred others to your show (even non musicians) because I think they would find you enjoyable to watch and I think you provide interesting segments even non-players can enjoy. Keep up the good work! I appreciate you.

Been watching you a long time, Tony, and it’s been amazing - you helped me pick my first banjo and I love that instrument. But most importantly - many congrats on 3 plus years sobriety!!! ❤

Wow Tony! I truly appreciate you for answering my question today. I have often wondered and assumed that you cared your guitars. Mine are on the wall, or in stands for easy access. I never considered the self vibration from the room. I turned off my humidifier Saturday and I see 55% in my guitar room and 47% upstairs. I took the CEO 7 up yesterday.
Thanks again, great show.

Great show! Also, just wanted to say thank you! Small wins are not only important in your guitar journey, but I have also started using small wins in my work and home life as well and it has helped with soooo many things! So…small wins work!

Cool episode, Tony, thanks for sharing, and my question got answered! I forgot to mention that my question about your hair/beard playing a harmonic was inspired by this very thing apparently happening to Billy Gibbons when he was recording with Queens of the Stone Age, on the track "Burn the Witch" if I'm not mistaken.

Most enjoyable show. For the question about getting obsessed with a new technique and noticing their other abilities start to slide... what I've done with a recent obsession is only allow myself to work on the obsession after I've done a full 15 minutes of my usual practice.

Ed Belfour is the GOAT! Definitely my all time favorite. Go Sioux for ever!

My close friend, Neil, was Edgar Winter's road manager in the White Trash days. Was cool getting to meet Edgar at an Alive at Five show in Albany pre-pandemic.

Tony the best news you can use was you being sober for 3 1/2 years. God bless you and your family. I am sure you have already seen many benefits by doing so. Take care! Brian

Hi Tony, been with ya since the "genesis" of your show. Your beard inspired me to use the biblical term. When you've a chance, please give your take on mutiscale-fan fret guitars. I know they've yet to "catch on", but i'm intrigued and would love to at least try one in the near future. Bonne chance to you & Whitney on the upcoming birth of said baby boy!

Congrats!! You now have something in common with #Spiderman #TomHolland

How do you keep from catching fire while barbecuing steaks with that rad beard?
Does your beard sometimes get sucked into the guitar sound hole?
