Now listen again and pay attention to the lyrics. It is the biggest F You to the industry. Absolutely brilliant!

Back in the early 90's when they were touring, a friend convinced me to drive up with him and a few friends to San Francisco. I asked him if we would be able to buy tickets at the venue and he said yes. So we headed up North from Los Angeles to get to the show that night. Basically about 7 to 8 hour drive. When we got there we were told that the tickets were sold out. Immediately a couple of us were bummed and the others had tickets to get in. So I thought I did this drive just to sit in a parking lot. Then my friend mentioned the tour bus was just around the back and we should knock on the bus door and see if we could get in to the show. I didn't want to bother anyone but I figured it was worth a try. So I went over to the bus and knocked on the glass. Guess who comes to the door...Popper! He was the only one on the bus. I told him I didn't mean to bother him and explained that I drove with some friends from Los Angeles thinking I could buy a ticket but is now sold out. I asked if he had 2 tickets that my friend and I could buy to see the show? He said "come with me." My friend and I followed him through the back stage door. He showed us to a room with a couch that looked like it was outside the green room. He said wait here. We waited for about 30 mins then someone came out and told us we could enter the theatre. We entered and met up with our friends inside. They started about 10 minutes later. What a fantastic show! I continued to go see them live at different venues through the 90's. Down to earth and talented!

The way he does that harmonica solo and IMMEDIATELY goes into the fastest lines of the song will never cease to amaze me. His breath control is out of this world.

It doesn't matter what I say as long as I sing with One of the greatest lines ever

One of the strongest bands of the 90s. A real crime they didn't become even bigger, but musical tastes changed.... Still love these guys! Popper is a legend!

"Runaround", "Hook", "Most Precarious" and "But Anyway" were their big hits. John is a phenom. He is such a unique harmonica player that his vocals were often overlooked. Incredible breath control especially for someone that size.

John Popper may be the best harmonica player to have ever lived. The sound just energizes you.

You probably heard “Runaround”. It’s a great song

Holy shit, that's the best harmonica I've ever heard. I didn't even think something like that was possible.

His singing style is built on his harmonica playing. He legitimately sings the way he plays, it is awesome.

The 90s was amazing for different kinds of music. Genres were all over the place, and there was something for everyone.

No autotune. No backing tracks. Just 3 guys, a great song and Harmonica Jesus performing on an average Tuesday.

This song is the perfect example of the peaks that 90s music hit all the time and yet all of them will forever be timeless.

He is singing exactly about your reaction to the song 😂 he had you because of the inflection of his voice and hook, didn’t care about the lyrics 😂

The lyrics are the best part of this song. The catchiness of the song is in and of itself a statement. The 90s were a wild time.

It was from the movie kingpin. They played at the end on in an Amish community

"The Mountains Win Again" is another good one by BT.

This band was part of that 90s brigade of touring and festival bands with huge literal followings around the country to the shows like Phish, Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic. Those parking lots were the silk road before the internet.

I discovered this band when they were on Roseanne back in the day. There was an episode where Dan's old band comes to Lanford and it was blues Traveler. It made a fan out of me.

The mountains win again is such a beautiful song by blues traveler. I had the absolute privilege of hearing that song for the first time at Red rocks amphitheater in Denver with my dad when I was a kid and I will never forget how beautiful it was.
