My first reaction to the song when it came out in the 70s - "WHY?" Now I wish I had a copy of it - - and "Clair" (always liked the harmonica)
Great Gilbert O'Sullivan impersonation.

Gilbert returning the favour after Norman 'Hurricane' Smith recorded Gilbert's "Who Was It" .
Excellent Stuff Steve, you could have easily recorded for those old Hallmark & MFP "Top of the Pops" &" Hot Hits" albums !

On the Subject of different Artists performing songs by others, Slade would have made a Great Job of the Beatles "Everybody's Got Something to Hide", or indeed "I'm Only Sleeping". The similarities between John and Noddy can be quite striking. John could have performed "Far Far Away" its Fascinating stuff !
