Beginners guide to riding rollers
Показать описание
This video is perfect for beginners learning to ride the rollers. Rollers are a great training aim for track riders and road riders looking to improve their pedalling style and efficiency.
Tips to remembers:
- Wear trainers on your first attempt in case you need to put your foot down quickly and it's easier to start off pedalling.
- Check the length of the rollers is correct for your bike. When the bike is on the rollers, the front axle should eb slightly behind the front roller.
- Put the bike in a gear middle of the block at the back, you need the gear to be fast enough to keep your momentum but small enough to get the gear started and keeping it rolling.
- Place a water bottle 1-2m ahead on the floor and look forward to the water bottle.
- Place a chair on either side of yourself or place your rollers between a door frame, so you can grab onto something if you feel yourself losing balance or going off to one side of the rollers.
- You can get elliptical rollers that are rolled up on the edges to push yourself back away from the edges if you move towards them.
- "Speed is your friend" on the rollers. Keep pedalling unless you want to stop. Momentum helps you stay on the rollers and riding smooth and straight.
- Think about the whole of your pedal stroke, pedal throughout the whole circle.
- Keep a relaxed grip on the handlebars.
