Integrating SDE Enterprise Geodatabase and PostGIS under Same Database Part 2 PostGIS Configuration

This video is the second video about how to integrates SDE Enterprise Geodatabase and PostGIS under a single PostgreSQL database. Enterprise Geodatabase and PostGIS have their own pros and cons, so if we can integrate them together, we can get a flexible geodatabase that can support a wide range of applications. Mixed Geodatabase would have core Enterprise Geodatabase functionalities like Archiving, editor tracking, versioning, but at the same time stored as PostGIS PG_GEOMETRY to be edited in QGIS, spatially enabled thru common PostGIS client like PgAdmin, Dbeaver, or even Tableau.

This workflow must be considered experimental so implementation in the production environment must be addressed with many considerations.

I think I now know what you wanted to do. It is very interesting idea! However, from what I understand SDE handles data differently from postgis in term of explaining archive, versioning, branching as well as tracking changes and connecting from Qgis will not benefit from these features
