Two lawmakers push through with the distribution of the unregistered anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin in Quezon City. Advocate believe the drug is effective against COVID-19.

But experts maintain there's not enough data to prove that Ivermectin is safe and effective against the virus.

And, the Justice department is leaving it up to law enforcers whether or not to arrest lawmakers who handed out the drug.

The paramount responsibility of the government is to look after the general welfare of the people specially in time of emergency. They should not use the laws to prevent a proven medicine that have yet to comply in registration to curtail its used. Ivermectin is a registered medicine for other purposes so it is legal already.
