I just love this! I remember always listening to Alan Dell on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday afternoons, this was his signature tune, if I remember correctly. Loved it then and love it still.

Many years ago on BBC Radio 2 there was a Sunday afternoon show introduced by Alan Dell called Sounds Easy. It was always crammed full of easy listening cheesy romantic jazz as well as the odd uptempo number. This was the music he played out to. Love it. Reminds me of far off, care free years.

Mancini had a sound that no one could duplicate. Reminds me of my dad listening to this on vinyl years ago. Thanks for bringing back fond memories.

The first time I heard this song was from the group Thee Midnighters( often referred to as The Mexican Beatles). I thought Thee Midnighters wrote this song. But it was so unique that anyone who listens to music knows what great music sounds like. I just discovered Henry Mancini’s rendition and I love it.

Exquisite, Jim! I love this song, it's beautiful, with beautiful lyrics, but it's every bit as gorgeous as an instrumental. Love Henry Mancini! Thank you so much for posting this, it really made my day. Hope you're having a great weekend, my friend :))
