Armored Core 6 (VI) - IB-01 CEL 240 Boss Fight (Chapter 4 - Mission 34: Reach the Coral Convergence) - EASY BRUTE FORCE STRATEGY

With this build you can simply overpower the boss. You have a lot of health from using the parts with the highest available AP (Health) and Defense Stats, and having insane damage output from dual-wielding gatling guns and 2 x Needle Guns on the back. The two Needle Guns stagger the boss super fast and the Gatling Guns deal crazy damage during the stagger phase.

It's simple:

- Lock onto the boss immediately when fight starts (R3 / Right Stick). This makes it much easier to hit him.
- Always stay close to the boss by flying towards him with X/A. The tank build is hard to drive on the ground, and while evading with SQUARE/X you can't shoot weapons. Flying has easier maneuverability and you can keep shooting.
- Fire all 4 guns continuously at all times. Hold L2+R2 / LT+RT to fire the main guns & constantly tap L1+R1 / LB+RB to fire both shoulder weapons. Make sure you stay as close to the boss as possible for more damage output and to break his shields faster.
The shoulder weapons deal a lot of Impact Damage to break his shields and stagger him, and the Hand Weapons also deal good damage at close range. Once the enemy is staggered, unload everything on him for fast damage. He takes significantly more damage while staggered. His shields will be down for a while, stay close and keep dealing damage. You don't need to worry too much about evading, just stay close and deal damage. With this build you have enough health to withstand the damage and can win by sheer brute force without any skill.

The shoulder weapons deal a lot of Impact Damage to keep the boss staggered most of the fight, and the Dual-Wielded Gatling Guns deal insane damage at close range during the stagger phase. Try to shoot the Shoulder Guns when the boss is standing still in the air. Then quickly stagger him with Gatling Guns, keep shooting him with the Needle Guns + Gatling Guns during stagger and repeat. You don't need to worry about evading too, just stay close and kill the enemy faster than he can kill you so it doesn't require any skill and is just a matter of brute force. It may still take a few tries, mainly if the boss evades your Needle Guns.

Staying at close range is the key here. At long range the gatling gun bullets get deflected. At close range they won't deflect and deal vastly more damage, especially during the stagger phase. Gatling Guns will overheat after a while but just let them cool down and hold down the trigger until they overheat again, repeat this cycle while continuously firing the shoulder weapons when the enemy is standing still or staggered.

I have never been more utterly depressed than when that thing came back to life for round 2

The hardest part for most bosses, is how inconsistent their moves patterns are. Sometimes they will be super aggressive and other times they will run away.

For anyone struggling, I found it easier to not go in blasting machine guns because he starts flying around. Wait for him to start a big attack then blast him with dual needles then go in machine gun blazing. Took me forever until I slowed down.

This boss has absolutely decimated me, most deaths ive had thus far besides my countless tries on the Sea Spider

An excellent boss fight where the enemy is untouchable, and you are pidgeon holed into not fun builds. And where your main enemy is the camera and instantaneus flawless aimbot attacks that oneshot you.

Thanks… that fight had really crossed the border from “challenging” into “annoying” for me.
There needed to be a checkpoint between forms just so I could have a chance to practice the second one… got way too much Dark Souls in my Armored Core, with this one…

If this boss had just ONE phase it would be a perfect fight...since i beated the first phase without the bruteforce, i was using the laser lance and a speed build to catch up the boss, but when i saw the second phase i said..."oh for fuck sake"...i gave up and did the brute build.

This worked perfectly. Definitely important to dash in. Was running into her like an epic anime clash.

This build rules. I got him on my 5th try. I also noticed that it's significantly easier to fight him on the ground.

Thanks, I never had the idea to use the anti worm weapon again, I thought it was only useful for the worm fight. I beat the boss on 1st try with a modified version of your build. I used the faster tank threads and adapted the rest of the build for the loss of carrying capacity with what I could find had the best armor while keeping me under max load.

I finally managed to get the boss down just a bit ago. I went in blind and on my first playthrough I got stomped on the second phase. Lacked dual gatlings so I used the grenade launcher to prime the one gatling I did have to stun.

Bashing my head for so long I finally realized that sometimes using the needle cannons willy nilly isn't a bad strategy. They reload fast enough that if you score a lucky hit you can pepper with the gatling and just fire the other cannon first for insane damage.

I was happy I got it down fairly quickly.. until it revived for round 2 😅 but tank build did the job so well! Tank go boom 💥
