I sit a large USB powered silent PC fan on top of the vents which I got for $5 off Ebay; it actually keeps my receiver cold to the touch even in summer. I got one for my projector too, because those things run even hotter.

there are many factors in electronics that influence their lifespan. there are a few that influence it a lot more than other factors
- Running it too hot.
- moisture (damp basement)
- mechanical stress (dropping it)

mostly the capacitors are going to wear out eventually, this has more to do with age than usage.

I unplug my denon receiver from the wall outlet if it's not used for a day. 😂😂

My older second/third hand Onkyo TX-NR636 runs up to 16hrs a day. Not at movie levels (until I get home 😁) and no cooling, all though I'd really like an AC Infinity unit.

As long as you keep it cool it will last “forever”.

I had a SR7005 which I burned out and it even damaged my Blueray player because it dryed out the mechanics.

I bought a cooling fan but if you don't keep it super clean it actually will collect dust

I have a separate home theater that only gets used occasionally as we mainly watch our living room tv that has a 5.1 system consisting of older equipment that I upgraded to use in our theater. That being said, at first, we listened to the surround system anytime we watched TV, but I noticed that by listening to it constantly, it lost some of it "spacial effect"! It kinda lost its wow factor if you will. So we stopped! Whenever we watch regular TV now we only use TV speakers. Now, when we watch a new movie or we go into our home theater to watch a movie, it has the "wow" factor again! I don't think or haven't noticed running equipment nonstop for hours a day shortening its life. I have amps and a couple of avrs that have been used many hours a day for long periods of time and still going strong. Heck, I have 2 klipsch subs that are over 18 years old and still perform as brand new. I think the key is like anything else, if you don't abuse it and take care of it, it will last you a long time!

The 6015 is a great machine for it's pricepoint. Own one myself in a 5.6.4 configuration and it rocks....

Im still rocking my old Yamaha Aventage RX-A1070 with an AC Infinity T8. I run mine about 10 hours every day specially when i do gaming and movie watching and thankfully i havent had any issues with mine but i also never pushed my receiver to its limits as my wife gives me the look of death when i go past -40DB lol! 😅

Love it when people get value for money out of any product.

Can you run speakers without turning on the Marantz if you are just doing stereo through the TV and not movies ?

My Yamaha stays on 15 hrs 5 days a week. No issues for years. They go out of date before they wear out!

I've actually heard running eco mode on a projector actually is worse in some ways for the bulb. it's designed for normal operation.

In 2010 I purchased a Klipsch 7.1 home theater speaker system and a Yamaha RX-V665 7.2 A/V receiver. I have used it every single day since the day of purchase for hours and hours. I have my 55 inch TV connected to it and I have my PC computer desktop connected to my TV and Yamaha A/V receiver. Knock on wood, the system is still going strong and sounding as good as the day of purchase. I also have two Tascam CD player/recorders, a Music Hall turntable, and a Pioneer RT-1020L reel to reel tape deck all connected to my Yamaha RX-V665 A/V receiver.
