In this tutorial, you'll learn how to transcribe audio or so of your podcast, video, or other fragments to text, to ultimately download it as a separate TXT file.

How to transcribe audio to text | Tutorial

Let's say you recorded a podcast or a video with audio, and you'd like to transcribe it to text. In this video I'll show you how this can be done in less than a minute, so let's get started.

Hop over to VEED.IO. You can create an account for free. Click on the first link in the description to go straight to the website.

Once you're on the homepage, click on Upload Your Video. Then click on Upload A File
Select your audio file or video clip. After that, click on Open to import the video or audio file.

Keep in mind it doesn't matter if it's a video or solely an audio file with a voice/speech, the procedure works in a similar fashion.

To transcribe audio to text, simply go to Subtitles on the left-hand side of the menu. Then, select Auto Transcribe.

Choose the language you speak in your video, which is English in this case. Then click on Start.
After a short moment, your audio is transcribed to text, which turned into subtitles.

Perfect, now we simply need to check if there are any text corrections that need to be made. To change the words or letters, click on the text in the boxes and change it to your liking.

Once you're satisfied with your text, hop over to Option in the menu. Then, select TXT Format under Edit Subtitles.

And last but not least, click on the download button on the right, to download your TXT file straight to your computer.

Congratulations. Now you transcribed audio to text!
