In this step-by-step tutorial video, learn how you can transcribe speech in Word. Transcribe converts speech (recorded directly in Word or from an uploaded audio file) to a text transcript with each speaker individually separated. After your conversation, interview, or meeting, you can revisit parts of the recording by playing back the timestamped audio and edit the transcription to make corrections. You can save the full transcript as a Word document or insert snippets of it into existing documents.

You literally saved my dam life!!!! I have a job taking meeting minutes! I record them on my iphone and literally replay and listen to the dreadful recording and write/ and or type away. Which killed me. My sister told me how doctors use apps etc. Your video Thank God for you. I got a MS account and tested what you showed! You saved me. God bless you!

I am a teacher who has had to learn how to teach my students from a distance digitally. Your videos have been a life saver. I've learned so many new things from you. Thank you soooo much!

Great feature! I love the new audio transcription features in M365. Im especially looking forward to transcribing Teams meetings live. Unfortunately this new word feature seems not to be available for me yet. In all my M365 subscriptions the "transcribe" button under "dictate" is greyed out. Is there a different rollout schedule for different countries?

This is great. I was looking for something like this 2-3 years ago. I'm a financial advisor and in today's environment the more documentation the better. Recording a meeting and identifying speakers is just what I need.

Kevin, your content is so helpful. Anytime I’m wondering how to do something, I go to you since I know you’re going to teach me how in a clear, concise way. Thank you.

Incredibly useful and very timely Kevin! I'm sure students will love this and find it useful in all their courses. Hoping it works for online lectures delivered remotely for students as well in live-feeds but I guess we'll know soon when the new semester starts! Have a great day Kevin!

Hi Kevin, this is extremely helpful, thank you so much!
I have a question please, I tried it in Teams meeting, but it only recorded and transcribed my voice, non of the other attendees, is there a way to record everyone's voice?

Hey Kevin, I'm an oral historian and this is going to be great for my work. One problem tho'. My interviews can be up to an hour so I rarely have time to edit and correct the transcription in one session. How can I save the editing sidebar that opens and resume my corrections later without saving the whole file? After I save the file I cannot get the sidebar to open again.

OMG, you saved me so much time. I thought I had to listen and type everything manually? 😂 ...thank you so much.

You are only allowed so many minutes to transcribe. Can I add minutes? Sometimes I have an hour to two hour interviews.

Extremely helpful, well done video on a very important topic for those of us who are Wordsmiths. Also, many of us who work with foreign languages (translators, linguists) have migrated a large part of our work away from Microsoft Office 365 to tools such as DeepL Translator, Google Suite, etc. However, MS Word has some very powerful language tools, that deserve to be highlighted and explained properly. Please consider a mini-series of four or five video on Word's translation, transcribing, spell checking, and other foreign language features built into Office 365. Most people are not even aware of what is already built into this suite.
Thank you for your video on Transcribing in MS Word. You know how to explain things logically with hands on examples. The production quality of your videos, i.e. light, sound, audio, pronunciation, etc. is extremely well done. Keep up the good work.
