What if you had more number of molecules on the right hand than on the left.Will it still be diffusion if molecules move from higher concentration to lower concentration, no matter what the direction is left or right.??

I thought of it as like a subway car as if it is packed you obviously will move to a car where there are less people. If that helps anybody?
