I get that you can’t divide a finite line in half infinitely, but I heard about this paradox a while ago (it’s possibly some crackpot’s ancient theory) & my point in repeating it is that every time I feel my perfectionism rising up I think about it & it helps.

You can loose sight of the true perspective of a task if you keep dividing it up into smaller pieces & expect to fix every mistake before u can move on. This is where I’m at with my paintings, putting paint down until I’ve said what I want to say & moving on. You grow by finishing paintings.

This painting series (I’ve just started) is called Blur - if you catch my drift. As someone which chronic migraine disease there were a few times when, painting this blurry self-portrait, I thought it might have been a mistake to paint such a trippy image given that it was quite hard to look at during migraine attacks. Also, ironically, my glasses broke suddenly halfway through painting this as if I’d angered the glasses gods by acting as if I wasn’t wearing them 😂😂 but I love the diffuse & graphic aspect to painting out of focus effects.

It’s realism through a looking glass…a looking glass so many of us filter our life through now. 📸🤳

Hey could you help me with something I wanted to know if Venetian red can make some vibrant pinks and purples with ultramarine blue and if no what red would you suggest to make pinks as well as skin tones just wanted to know before investing in it
