I got called for a 2-day trip on the last day on my reserve month! I am working number one on a domestic trip that lays over in Richmond, VA. I also took the time this trip to explain the perks and flexibility of the Flight Attendant work schedule.

I would consider fa with American but they do not pay while in training when some others do. I don't see how they can do that without new trainees complaining but I guess if you signed up you were willing.

Are you able to work Saturday-Monday only I have a full time job Tuesday-Friday.

I know Dallas it's very senior for American. Did you get Dallas out of the gate when you started or were you based elsewhere initially? Maybe you weren't even living there at the time.

Kevin, you mentioned your wife is an RN .Am a retired RN and I worked 12 hr shifts just like your wife. I worked seven on seven off, which worked like a charm for me.. At my former facility, you the choice of a 4/3 or 3/3 shift.

Thanks for that clear explanation. How tough is it to clear your schedule down to such low flying hours? Are you able to a 4 day down to a 3 day? How does dropping trips work? And are you able to offer extra money for people to pick up your trips?

Is the “3 month line, then 1 month reserve” the permanent schedule for you? Or will you get to hold a line every single month when you’re like 10 or 20 years in?

So if you on call while on reserve they still pay your regular hourly pay if you don’t work ?

Hi Kevin,
I’m a little confused does, trading and dropping trips mean the same thing where another flight attendant has to pick up the trip so you are no longer responsible for that trip, or does dropping literally mean you dropped it and no longer have to work that trip and the company is now responsible to find someone to work that trip.
