Hi Omar, thanks for this, good info! Marvel UK actually publishes collected editions called ‘Omnibus’ but they are soft cover and usually collect about 12 or so issues. Recent examples include House of X and Immortal Hulk. Civil War was published like this so there is a ‘Civil War Omnibus’ from Marvel, but it’s a standard size TPB

You can make another video for OVERSIZED-oversized books such as Treasury Editions, Remender books, Absolutes, Monster-size books etc.

I always assumed “omnibus” was for complete stories or roughly 1 man storyline, where ohcs can be a straight sequential collection. Marvel has not 100% adhered to that rule, so who friggin knows. I honestly don’t care so long as they’re oversized and matching in height

Great overview! I've learned this through a few years of collecting collected editions, but it's great for people who are confused by all the different editions and just a nice reference point in general. OHCs are my preferred format as I feel like they balance out the best of both worlds. Slimmer and easy to read, yet not too slim and packaged in a prestige hardcover format. That said, there's something satisfying about finishing a giant omnibus, and something comforting about collecting/reading a run in TPBs. I'm actually conflicted on if I should buy the Dawn of X TPBs or wait for an omnibus, as I feel like there are benefits to both.

I’m really liking how OHCs are being made more and more. I love hardcovers and I don’t mind collecting runs in OHCs until an Omni is available. And then if there is no Omni well still have it oversized so no loss.

One of your next videos needsto be a tips, tricks, and suggestions for storing your collections. I have a very limited space and have resorted to having to stack some of my books horizontal alternating how they are stacked so spines aren't being damaged. If you could make a video on that it would be awesome.

Omar should do a favorites of Oversized hardcovers if omnibus's didnt exist. I only say that cuz i want to start collecting Hardcovers in general but i dont need omnibus's the size of dictionaries.

Yup even Image has issues on the HC front. You have Deluxe Editions and Rick Remender deluxes :)
