This is one of the things I appreciate about YouTube. You can discover people making an effort to create highly valuable videos, even for basic topics like this. Excellent review!

Did you give an arc lighter a minus if you touched the end of it, wonder what happens if you do the same on the other two. doh

one factor that you didnt account for, matches can get ruined and goes bad over time and the amount of times you have to click on the duraflame to light, sometimes it doesnt even light. The arc lighter costs more but its infinite recharge as long as the lithium ion battery is good.

I don't believe this video had much relevance in my life but it was a very well put together video. Well done good sir! 🎉

I just started using arc lighters, wouldnt go back, for camping, hiking, backpacking and you need a quick fire fast anything you put between the arcs instantly ignites, depending on how you use and there is a learning curve for proficiency but 100s of lights on one charge

Can’t believe this has been out for so long and I’ve only heard about it now. Such a great idea! Also great video! Very informative and super fun.

The arc light has another advantage. It is rechargeable. When the duraflame runs out of fuel, you have to replace it, and we all know that matches are limited in number. But the arc light is electric, so you can just simply recharge it, assuming that it has the capability, and it will be good to go again!

This is a great review! Love the Pizazz factor and the "Danger Will Robinson" reference. Really took me back. But seriously, this comparison is golden! If I'm camping on a windy day, the few seconds that the arc light stays on is a detriment. Anyway, great review and thank you very much.

I'd like to supercharge one of my hand held bug zappers with the guts of one of these arc lighters. I just need to find one that will stay on as long as you hold the button and has a powerful battery. I've fried bugs on some of my arc lighters and they smoke pretty good.

Awesome. Gotta get one of these plasma lighters to go with the torch. Torches are cool but use a lot of fuel, give that a big minus

Helpful thanks. I noticed you timed the trials but then did not take this into consideration in the final comparisons. I suggest putting the times into your boxes instead of the less precise check marks. The check mark system also seems a bit shaky with the plusses and what not. Seemed like the butane was just as good if not better in most of the tests. Better on cost? You didn't say how many lights the butane had? And I would say matches have pizzazz. They are definitely cooler than the other two. Cowboys used matches. They would never use an arc lighter.
