I'm sorry for putting this here, since I understand GoldenGully is a Muslim. But for anyone wanting to try something similar. Try with pork fat, I always use the excess leftover from cooking pork curries to make popcorn from before. And yes with pork, it carries a lot more flavour with the fat.
