How to make an XT60/XT90 Dual Outlet Connector

DIY XT60 Dual Outlet Connector. In the video, I make up the connector with XT60's but the process is exactly the same for the larger XT90's (of course)

This is just a quick little video that explains how to make a compact XT60 dual outlet connector that will allow you to power two items off of one battery. In my case, I wanted to tidy up the wiring on my FPV tray and will use the connector to get power from one 3s lipo to a video monitor and a video receiver.

The only trick here is to spin the barrels in all the connectors 180 degrees to make it easier to solder.

You can use the same method shown in the video to make a parallel connector (instead of using a harness). It's nice to get rid of all the wire you can. (less weight and clutter)

If you like the tip, a thumbs up would be awesome, thanks!

Cheers,

Bob

Here are some links to XT60 stuff. Make sure to order from a warehouse near you to save shipping costs.

You sir, are a legend! Here l was thinking l was gonna have to wait 6 weeks for these to arrive from China to where l am here in Australia and l've just made two XT90 sets in less than 15 minutes from watching this video! I have just finished building my twin motor Arrma Kraton and as it will use two esc's l needed a parallel connector and could not find one locally. And at $7 each and a 6 week wait, l knew there were better options out there. Thank you very much for sharing.

Just made one of these. Glad I came on to the tube and checked this out, I was about to make one up like the wired one you showed. Saved me some time and space inside my battery bay. Thanks for the tip.

A really job on the connector but an excellent job on the camerawork, editing and final video Bob!  However, I also noticed another subliminal set of rather large dual outlets durning the video!  I think your recommendation of "finding a way to keep them together so that don't fall apart" is applicable there as well, what great… tips you have!  LOL, love it… and them!  Thumbs up!  Cheers Bob!

Thats a good Idea for attached LED or double Lipo but attention the Bec normal have only 5A.

Helpful hint, keep the male/female connectors plugged in. That way if you overheat the pins they will not soften the plastic and become misaligned.

How did you get the ends turned on the xt90?

Your solder flows GREAT - Must be because of doubling up the females ;)

P.S. What brand, and can you send a link for the solder, by chance???

P.P.S. 2:04 LOL

Thank you for this. I wish I could see how you set this connector up with your FPV system. Is it really that simple? I just make the power to my RC832 and LCD into XT60 compatible, plug, and play? Would love if it really is that easy. Will try and see what happens... Hopefully you reply before if there is something I should know first. Thanks again.

Use 63/37 (eutectic) solder. It stays liquid much better than 60/40. The eutectic solder stays as either solid or liquid and it does not stay in between.
