Fun fact, human babies do have a minor regeneration, only capable of small wounds. It was first scientifically documented in the 70s when a baby had a finger tip removed. Unsure if from a bite or blade, etc. It slowly grew back the missing flesh and even the nail over a couple months. However this gene turns off as we get older

Another fun fact: it’s been observed that axolotls can also still sense with missing organs. Their sense of sight returns after only 2 days if they lose their eyes. This is leading researchers to believe studying axolotls may revolutionize blindness treatment
