12 years ago a heavy objects fall on my foot causing a blood blister on the bottom of my left heel the VA had to cut the heel of my foot down to the bone to prevent a staph infection from spreading but I couldn't walk for three years and became homeless vet it's taken many many years for the muscle mass to grow back so I always put all the weight on the front of my foot I kept getting calluses or blisters I just had my foot check with the VA they did an x-ray to make sure that there's no bone infection I spoke to the nurse Christy the doctor wasn't available and she didn't see any diagnosis about a bone infection on my medical records I've been going to the VA podiatrist twice a month for over a year and every time I went there he just went a little too far with the razor and cut my foot and it would bleed I've been sitting in the chair for over 14 months you can't walk on a foot that's bleeding and the foot has the slowest circulation in the body so it takes so long for me to heal I put an expandable bandage on my foot at least twenty-two hundred times I changed the expandable bandage everyday with gauze pads and an I still get calluses on that right side of my left toe I'm trying to learn to walk differently if I walked with more weight on the heal of my foot that's something the doctor never mention to me I don't think about that myself when there was no muscle mass I would just fall over there was nothing there to support me I'm going next week to get special shoes again and see if this will make a difference one time I wound up with a blister and my foot was still bleeding the blister turned black from the blood I thought I had another staph infection so I had to go to a walk-in clinic my podiatrist at the VA couldn't see me this doctor says at the walk in clinic I'm only a lowly general practitioner but it looks like you might have to have your whole toe amputated that scared the crap out of me I went to the hospital emergency room and the doctor said oh it's just the blood that fills up the blister and he gave me an antibiotic I've been living with this for a very long time and sitting in the chair all this time it's affecting my cardiovascular system if I go into the other room I breathe heavy from sitting in the chair all the time I'm afraid to do anything with this foot I've had two blisters they say the best thing to do is to walk while I can't walk so what am I supposed to do I refuse to go back to the VA podiatrist that I was seeing for all this time and he said to me oh you're going to have to live with this situation for the rest of your life
