Making an 1890s Waistcoat or Vest

I am so happy to have finally used this fabric. I generally avoid the color yellow, but I think this one works. Do you?

I really enjoyed the cute bird in this video and the explaining that the color brown was used a lot as the lining in these older clothes.

It hardly bothers me anymore. (Although I prefer if she leave my sewing alone.)

Tis a lovely waistcoat. And I too lament the scarcity of polished cotton for linings.

Currently I'm working out the pattern for a "seamless" costume via the 1895 Diamond Garment Cutter and would adore to line it with polished cotton, but alas, one will have to make do with regular cotton.
