Unlike in Undertale, Kris doesn't get a choice to kill any Darkners since they just flee when they run out of health. The game itself is literally not designed for Kris to do a genocide route.

If Toby was willing to go this far with DeltaRune's story in Chapter 2, I can't wait to see how crazy the rest of the Chapters will be

The part where i started to go from "I get to finally crush Berdly" to "I feel bad for him" was when he revealed the real reason in his actions. It was to create a world where he and Noelle would be happy.


Eliminating him with someone who was actually a friend to him and who he wanted to protect is the thing that made me feel guilty the most in that run.

First thing I thought when I saw Berdly in this chapter was "Oh hell yeah, we're able to kill Berdly!"

Then I found out about this route.

I take back everything.

I'm not a Berdly fan, but I really don't ever want to go through this scene. I can't do that to him and Noelle. These kids are too kind.

I can swear that Berdly's attacks were coming faster and harder in this route, he really tried his best

Love how this repeats the theme in Undertale's Genocide route of turning previously selfish characters heroic. Berdly puts aside his smug act, his bravado over Kris, to try and save Noelle. No imposter syndrome, no bragging that he has Queen and her troops on his side. No, just a scared kid trying to protect his friend. Espeically that dialogue for when Kris gets downed... the absolute betrayal Berdly must feel not being able to understand why Noelle won't stop... it's absolutely chilling.
And of course, his heroism only results in him being the first victim of Noelle's most fatal spell.
