My jammed up fingers and thumbs appreciate the review on grips

In case I need to hold onto someone falling from Niagara Falls, when I pull them up with the 'arm wrestle' grip, Imma tell them it wasn't me, it was Coach Brian that saved them

Coach Brian is just mad that Gene almost broke his neck with that stick.

This reminds me of what one of my first instructors ever taught me. His English wasn't too good, but he said, "Good grip, good submission. Bad grip, bad submission." Haha

Yes in arm wrestling some people hook and cup to counter some moves or if they are strong in those positions

Hooking with fists also helps tighten things up now and again.

I always grabbed my left hand with my dominant right hand on the outside pinky side of the hand, It has always felt strong and I've never had anyone break it. *Edit I saw you do it after I commented and you called it the "seat belt".

There s another grip i find very interesting; it s called the OK-grip (can be found on youtube from 10th planet guy who does hindoulotines, cant remember his last name right now, it s eddy … something). It s a mix between S-grip and some sort of fingers-hook to adress the main weakness of the original S-grip and i found its very strong : has the advantges of the S-grip (« largest ») and the flexibility to guillotine « marcelotine » style. PS : i like the 3 finger grip, it has its uses (only when breaking down opponent from front head lock to darce)

Pretty sure Gable grip name predates Eddie. Haha. You can hear it in the 90s commentaries before Eddie was even a thing.

Don't shatter my three finger grip fantasies! I'm not ready to have my beliefs challenged - I'm only on YouTube for the confirmation bias!

Recently, John Wick 4 blew me away with the BJJ, judo, and even aikido that was on display. I almost jumped out of my chair when he nailed an Imanari roll in the middle of a gunfight. What I'm most interested in, though, is takedowns. Did he pick any high percentage takedowns that you would recommend students actually try to learn, or was this the usual case of "flashy Hollywood stuff that only works with cooperative opponents"?
