When To File A Patent Application? #shorts
Показать описание
When should you file a patent application? This video explains why it's a better business decision to wait to file a patent application until you are ready to make public disclosures, public uses, offers for sale or approach inventors. Patent rights start to be lost upon a first public disclosure, public use or offer for sale if you don't file a patent application first. Filing a patent application before approaching investors helps your pitch and lets you talk openly about your invention. Also, it's best to wait until these four triggers because it allows you to delay the cost of an initial provisional patent application, a non-provisional a year later, and then the examination process 1-3 years after that. Also, waiting to file lets you have the idea or product more developed and patentability is typically in these developed details.
