"AUKUS submarine deal details already angered Beijing"
GOOD!
If a country annoys China then chances are that that country is doing the right thing!

“AUKUS Class Submarine”.

I like the way that sounds.

If it makes China upset, Australia is doing something right.

What has it got to do with China, we should be allowed to do what we want.

For a country that talks a lot about the importance of non-interference in the affairs of other nations they sure have a lot of opinions about how we go about defending ourselves.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, ??, China can build and populate new islands all over the Pacific Ocean with new military infrastructure, set up new Chinese outposts on Pacific Islands and build up their military capability to be magnitudes greater, and that is perfectly fine. However, when we commit to replace our aging military fleet, it brings on all kinds on tantrums from China. Seems a bit one sided. When did we all agree, that China would define Australia's defense strategy? Missed that memo.

Who is China to say Australia is a threat? China building large army and navy has nuclear weapons and nuclear powerd submarines but says nobody else can have them? It isn't Australia that is claiming international waters and claiming sea that runs into other countries territory. It isn't Australia navy bullying neighbouring countries fisheries. It isn't Australia threatening to take Taiwan by force. Big statements coming out of Beijing from a country that never won a major war. Who you think Japan surrendered to? It wasn't China

Hey Albanese how about telling the truth also, I would like to see mandatory five year prison terms for any government officials or politicians lying to the public.

Great to get them but 3 of one and 2 of another will be a maintenance nightmare and ridiculously expensive.
Did China give a shirt about our concern about their military progress?

How could be secret when you already announce it to the whole world😂

Consider this news in two parts. First, there is the purchase of 3 - 5 nuclear boats from the US. These will be delivered in some 15 years, after the RAN crews have served aboard US submarines to gain the requisite experience. The second part involves construction in SA, which will never eventuate due to cost.
