Detailer here. We use it all the time! Spray it down with winded, scrub till u see it soap up, and then wipe it down.

This did the job for me. I bought a 2002 Chevy Tahoe with water spots all over the windows. Bought some Rain-X glass cleaner and that did not do anything even after scrubbing hard. After seeing this video got the gloves and fourx steel wool.
That did it!
Now I want to know will this work the same on my mirrors. I'd hate to do it and scratch them up although I'm assuming that they won't.

We've used #0000 steel wool for years. The correct terminology for it is 4 aught (like caught without the c or some say ot as in hot). Just an FYI.

Can I use a scotch stainless steel scrubber, the round ones? Not sure if that's the same.

Just make sure to get all the steel wool off the paint or your gonna have a ton of micro rust spots everywhere

Do not do this without gloves you’ll get small microfibers of steel wool embedded into your skin permanently

Are you kidding me ? I'm terrified to put steel wool on my glass 😳. Should I really f do this? I'm extremely OCD'ish about my car glass. This just sounds irreversibly committal.
(Edit: I just watched like 3 more videos that claim this is by far the best way to do it. Ok, I'm gonna give it a shot)
(Edit #2: OK, This **WORKS**. I cannot overstate how deep the water stains (from previous owner) in my windows were so I dipped the steel wool in warm soapy water, scrubbed, then while still wet sprayed a little WD40 on there, scrubbed again, then repeated a third time with glass cleaner. When I say scrubbed, I mean... elbow joint pain scrubbed. Dried everything up and did one final glass cleaner/paper towel pass and I now have absolutely brand new glass. I prob didn't need to do all four steps but I was going for broke.
