Brilliant, thank you, so helpful. I’m taking cuttings having been given a lovely dahlia last year. It’s my first time so all this info is invaluable. I love it that you can take cuttings and then more shoots start later which can also use. So looking forward to it. I’d left it in the garden, here in Cornwall, over the winter with several frosts and some snow and really thought it had died but just a week or so ago it started new shoots.

Can I ask, what progogator are you using ? I have researched for something similar but could not find anything.

Why butcher a tuber to take the cutting so low, then cut the part you worked so hard for off after. You could have just taken them above the soil and got the same and had further growth to come from the part that was left. A bit strange.
