The 2024 Acura Integra Type S Is A Delightful Hot Hatch For A Mature Enthusiast

The #AcuraIntegra made a glorious comeback a couple years ago and for 2024, the first-ever #IntegraTypeS has arrived and it has borrowed several goodies from the #CivicTypeR hot hatch. #Acura gives the #Integra the same 2.0L Turbo K20C1 4-cylinder, pumping out 320 HP and connecting it to only a 6-speed MT. The #TypeS also takes the handsome design of the latest Integra to the next level with bigger wheels, a stiffer and lowered suspension, and a handsome and mature design that will age extremely well.

The msrp markups is such horseshit, so many hardcore fans want this car but the markups kill the hype.

As a Focus RS owner, I love that Acura engineers were inspired by the RS exhaust when studying what they wanted for this car. The Type S sounds great, looks amazing, but this is not the right time to buy a car with high dealer markups. Interest rates are still high, so a $50k Type S with a $10k markup could cost as much as $70k once the loan is paid off.

I just bought one and I have been loving it. The exhaust sounds so good.

Best Honda reviewer period. Honda should be held to a higher standard; Soichiro Honda designed them that well.

Love this car but the price killed it for me smh..just like they did the Z killed that for me! Theses dealerships shouldn't be able to mark theses cars up 10k to 20k on some cars

Great design, but overpriced and too many features missing that should be default.

WTH is wrong with Honda? No moonroof, no rear passenger vents, no memory seats, no rear passenger arm rest, and no ventilated seats?

I found this car for $1000 over sticker and $700 worth of garbage insurance products. They also lowballed me on my trade. I told them to pound sand and left. I’ll sell my car private party and find another one down the road for MSRP. Remember folks, we the consumer is in charge now.

Blows my mind that it doesn't have memory driver seat. I know some people will defend Acura by saying that this is meant to be a track car or some other BS, but those excuses don't make sense when you look at the suspension tunning and other aspects that are similar to the Type R but slightly softer. Besides, whatever additional weight it would add to have memory driver seat is negligible. A few pounds, at most, which really wouldn't matter in a car with 320hp.

Acura hit it out of the park with this car! I love it and would love to own one.

Its a great car but for $50k plus, there are so many options out there from both new and older cars. This is a $40k car and for that price it would be flying off dealer lots.

1. For that price, no heated/cooled, memory electric seats, no sunroof option, no middle rear seat, no heated rear seats, no rear climate control or vents and USB ports?!

2. I love a good manual as much as anyone, but I'll take a Golf R and get better traction and overall performance over this any day.

Thank you for mentioning all the items it's missing for the price. For me at $52K the following should be 100% standard: Iconic Drive ambient lighting, rear climate control, acoustic glass, power front passenger seat, auto-folding side mirrors and full premium leather seats.

The national average annual salary I think is around 70k a year. Currently the dealer mark ups including tax, title, and license will put you around 10k over price of the car. If you take out a loan, even with exceptional credit, you're still looking at least around 10k more over the course of the loan because. Obviously it will depend how much you out down and the length of the loan but youte looking at least 20k over asking price to own a car. How in the hell is anyone buying new right now or even justifying it in their heads. I make considerably more than the national average and have a substantial amount saved up now that I'm approaching 40 years old and I just couldn't justify it. I'd rather save the money in a high yield interest savings account or invest in an index fund. The economy is only going to get worse from here too, not better, unless we have a major reset. If we have a reset it will be rough times for everyone goes quite some time before it gets better too.

I don’t like sunroofs at all, so for me that’s a big plus, but a rear armrest and vents would be useful. No rear wiper is a real disappointment though, as is the lack of folding mirrors.

So let me understand my 19 civic hatch has rear seat heaters but this Acura doesn't?

The type-S is 3" wider because of upgraded suspension components, it's not just for looks.

As for your complaint about the sunroof delete, you said, "which I think is a mistake" because the A-spec has it as an option, why not just keep it? Um, the sunroof was deleted in favor of increase in rigidity and weight loss. Still think it "is a mistake" ?? On what premise do you conclude that it is a mistake? Meanwhile, plenty of other models from other makers who delete the sunroof on their top performers, for the same reason.
