US President Joe Biden and his wife Dr Jill Biden have welcomed Sir Elton John to the White House as part of the entertainment legend's global farewell tour.
The British superstar was moved to tears during the reception when the President surprised him with the National Humanities Medal for his efforts in the fight against AIDS.
President Biden also shed a few tears during the Rocketman's open air concert on the South Lawn of the White House.
The president has written previously about singing Sir Elton’s hit “Crocodile Rock” to his late son Beau as a child - and during his cancer battle.
The song was included in his setlist – alongside “Rocketman”, “Your Song” and “Tiny Dancer”.
