Love cruising around the cities in this game in any given car or truck, this game has aged well for being a 2014 Ubisoft game

Honestly, one of my top 5 most favorite racing games of all time! I remember spending 100s of hours just driving across the US. It's sad that the crew 2 and crew motorfest, despite being better in many ways, will never feel as good as crew 1.

Crew 1 is still my absolute fav in the series. The story was more my speed and I know it’s probably untrue but the map was more fun for me I don’t know what it was about the crew 2 but the map in the first game felt so much nicer to drive around

The Crew 1 wasn't that cringy, it was an action game, they didn't need to have that ridiculously happy type dialogue that is in The Crew 2 and Forza Horizon 4 and 5

What I loved about the first game was the fact that when a new car came out, it wasn’t just one car. It was a car for multiple specs, whether if that was street, dirt, perf, raid, or circuit spec.

My best times were joining crate events with the hummer monster truck

Whenever the host was boxed in by cops, the 5600kg hummer monster truck goin over 140mph sent all cars flying
And thanks to crew 1 having very comical crash physics made it quite the experience

Still my favourite racing game. I wish it was still active with players because I used to love racing against other people and just goofing around on the ski slope, sand dunes and of course the salt flats.

I forgot all about that car part explode in the garage in The Crew. It's odd to me how the first game focuses on revenge type story and then it just shifted to Forza Horizon-esque Festival type vibe on the second and Motorfest.

I absolutely loved this game as a kid. It had its obvious flaws but was probably one of my favourite racing games

Still think this game has the best atmosphere and wish they would have continued on with it. I enjoyed the story and characters. I think this game, Horizon 2, and NFS2015 I accumulated over 400 hours on all. I don't regret that in my teenage years though 😂 I need to go back to this and get the calling all units dlc

I loved the original Crew and its expansions. I had real problems with The Crew 2 though as they changed the controls which my brain has real difficulties adjusting to. Especially with how to restart a race, enough to put me off playing.

I still contest that this game is much, much prettier than The Crew 2. I own both on XB1, and I do all my Road Trip Talk videos using The Crew 1 because the textures and just the sense of perspective with the game's cameras feel more realistic. Every time I boot up The Crew 2, I am appalled by the fact everything looks overly shiny and synthetic (reminds me a lot of Fallout or Firewatch) as well as the sense of scale being screwed up because they just HAD to include planes in that game.

I will say though that I do like how The Crew: Motorfest has toned things back down. I am looking forward to that game, definitely.

I still play it to this day, just for that one 1hr-long faction race that just feels so right
