I live in Los Feliz. It's pronounced "Lowss Fuh-Leese". It's like "Feliz navidad". Los Feliz, Silverlake and Echo Park are freaking gorgeous. I love it over here. Glendale is a tad too bougie, but these neighborhoods are just the right mix of pretty, clean(ish) and hip.

Okay so, the valley is diverse. Studio City, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks and part of North Hollywood aren't just residential--lots of studio buildings, the NBC building all that crap--Van Nuys and North Hollywood are great places to live if you need a place for like $800 a month (with a roommate), Studio City is a tad pricier. Reseda and Panorama City are both pretty gross, Chatham is basically "the country".

you aren't alone in thinking the valley isn't really LA. LOL I grew up in Van Nuys and Reseda, and just thought of them as their own places.

I live in Mid City right by Little Ethiopia. It’s perfect, just south of the Grove/West Hollywood, just East of Beverly Hills, right below Wilshire and LACMA, and not too far from Koreatown. Also easy access to the freeway if you wanna go to the beach and East.

Google Maps not counting Burbank as part of LA is funny to me cause living in LA it’s probably where I’ve spent the most time and the first area I think of when I think of the city 😭

I still don't understand how L.A works and how it's laid out. I'm not American, but I prefer the gird layouts of New York & Chicago. I have a feeling even London, being very irregular, is easier to navigate.

I think Los Feliz is pronounced as “Loce-Felease”. Fun fact: that’s an incorrect way of Spanish, it should be “Los Felices” but whatever that’s an historical area name.
