I had read Gita published by iskcon in my school days and now I've started reading Gita by Gita press, Gorakhpur and the difference between those two is very stark. I suggest you guys read Bhagwad Gita which has no commentaries and only is sanskrit shlokas and its translation.

First of all, Bhagawat Gita is in itself not an independent entity. It's part of Mahabharata. If you take Gita out of Mahabharata, Gita looses context.

Second, It's a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna. These two are close intimate friends, sakha. Whatever Krishna is saying, it's directed towards Arjuna, not us. We are not Arjuna, we do not enjoy that relationship with Krishna that Arjuna had.

Yes even I realised, also when krishna told arjun that we are beyond human body and part of cosmos, but again he also says worship me and you will be free from everything (this is thing can be written by human only) 😂

If anyone wants to read gita, the read the original one, written by Ved Vyas ji!
If it is possible learn Sanskrit first, then read them original format, even it translated virsion there may possibly MANY miss interpret of original Sanskrit words,
Don't read others writers! They all read from their own understanding of original texts, just for example, inskos gita was written by prabhupada ji which is his understanding of gita from original gita ! It Bound to be different
