Don’t have to imagine it. Our family LIVED it. One of my brothers comment back in the late eighties/ early nineties, that he would be glad to go back to his job as a bottler in 1965 or so. One income supported himself, his wife, and two children. They could load up two carts of groceries, save up and buy a house, could afford to send their two children to a Catholic school in the seventies, and could still go out twice a month.
