My Shadow's Teeth

the lights go out but i still see
a mirror cracked inside of me
it whispers truths in voices mine
but twisted like a rusted spine

i touch the glass, my hand goes through
a thousand versions bleeding through
each one grins with blackened eyes
they know the things i try to hide

i built a shrine of every sin
worshipped silence deep within
fed the dark until it grew
and now it speaks the way i do

my thoughts are knives that carve my sleep
my shadow’s teeth, they sink in deep
i tried to run, i tried to lie
but you can’t escape the things you hide

i kissed the void, it felt like home
a lullaby in monotone
it sang to me in static tones
and named me king of all alone

i pray to gods i don’t believe
just to feel something deceive
a bitter faith, a crooked crown
i smile wide and let it drown
