Real helpful advice. ALSO, beware of interlopers! A bereaved friend was approached by a woman (fellow bereaved? We don’t know for sure) while attending a community grief counselling group recently in Ontario. The woman went out of her way to try and forge a friendship, quite pushy honestly. She invited herself over to my friend’s home and wanted to see the basement as she knew that my friend was stressed out over sorting out the possessions in her family home. She woman proceeded to ask several questions like “what are you doing with this, that?” And I’ll clean all this for you and get rid of it. Then she asked if my friend would sell her things. Not typical of one bereaved person to another and little empathy. And she was insisting my friend hire her as a cleaner and noting she did this sort of business (helping bereaved?), in the past a lot in Toronto. I thought all this was a big red flag, and oddly she had no social media presence. I think anyone that experiences this should report it to coordinators and do not let these ‘too pushy’ people insert themselves into their lives as they may be praying on vulnerable people for their possessions and presenting themselves as a kind friend/helper.

I was scammed 6 months after my husband passed. When I realised what was happening, it was already to late. 2 years later and I'm still trying to sort it out and get the debt of my name. Fb invites almost daily from socalled widowers claiming to like a post, very similar to the 1 you shared. I immediately delete and block then. Thank you for you video xxx

One resource is hospices, if your loved one used them. My local hospice gave me 13 months of one on one grief therapy for free. They saved me.

Thanks for your comments Jo. Unfortunately I was a victim of exacly what you explained. I was contacted by a scammer. I believed everything as they are well trained to make it all sound absolutely real. However, my vulnerable emotional state prevented me from seeing the truth and I fell in his trap! texts with offers of longlife love and connection....new enriching relationship....a bright future with somebody in my same situation of loss and sadness where we would both give each other what we both needed: connection and companionship. All untrue. Money request very urgently in order to make this match function and make it happen quickly. False and untrue. Please follow Jo´s advice and be aware of the scam as soon as possible.

I payed 600e for GRM grief recovery metodh it is all over internet but after 8 meetings note happend..i am in big pain and without 600e ...i asked why i dont feel any better i was toled that they dont have magic stick to make my pain go away

The scammers are on all social media. IG, X dating sites etc. So in FL I know the laws and each state is different. If you do end up marrying 😮 Do A Prenup 💜💙💝
