The Rising Tide: LGBTQ+ in 2023

This documentary is my final project for professor Anne Slatton’s Documentary Production class. I was inspired to do this project by the barrage of new alerts about anti-LGBTQ bills being passed across the country. I made this documentary in an effort to raise awareness and place this moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in the context of history and human rights. I am hoping this film can help the people who are affected by these bills by raising awareness of these issues as a human rights issue, and I hope it helps bring forth compassion for those affected by these bills. I hope this film inspires people to stand up and get involved at this critical time. This film is in memory of all those who have lost their lives due to their gender expression or sexuality.
