This answers alot of questions towards the Manga's ending, and the relationship between Kaiju no. 8 and Kaiju no. 9. With Kaiju no. 9's loss, Kafka is also shown to be defeated as well, so will Kafka ever return back to his human form?

I think Kafka is the reincarnation of the samurai after he went into a rage and lost control of number 8s abilities looking at the death of his people caused in the fire by number 9 which is the reason for number 8 actively looking for Kafka instead of finding a random host and the grudge of 8 being from the death of his host (coming from a dude who hasn’t read a drop of the manga)

So like, theory. What if Isao comes back as the conscience of Kaiju no.2? He was able to come back to stop no.9 when he used his second barrier to protect his core, either when the first barrier went down or the second went up. I think the only reason he was able to catch no9 of guard was because he was relying on no2's abilities for an extened period of time, causing his conscienceness to resurface. It's a bit shakey the theory but it does give hope that the anti kaiju force can stand in a better position in this unprecidented situation.

Here’s a theory, kinda based on One-Punch Man. What if the “original Kaiju 8” wasn’t originally a result of a samurai bonded with a kaiju but actually the result of a samurai having eaten the flesh of kaiju and continually getting stronger as he fights/eats. He may have done so out of desperation to kill kaiju. Thus, to make sure that he would be able to exterminate all kaiju, he kept rebirthing himself across time periods until the time of present-day events, with each new spawn carrying the will/memories of the original samurai/kaiju 8. However, it had been so long, so all that was left was the single-minded desire to kill kaiju by the time the kaiju 8 spawn was able to find Kafka

I feel like the best comparison for kaiju #8 in other anime/Manga would be Asta's devil. Only ability is fusion with humans and maybe reading their minds. This ability would be looked down on by all other Kaiju and it would be tormented for it.
