Ghost particles have given scientists a first-look inside an active galaxy. About 80 high-energy neutrinos were found buried in ice at the South Pole, detected by NSF’s IceCube Neutrino Observatory. This discovery gives astrophysicists new clues into the violent and chaotic environments surrounding supermassive black holes, this time from Messier 77.

neutrinos are not buried in ice.

as they travel at near light speed through the earth a very few hit the oxygen nuclei in the 'ice cube detector' c.f.
it's a cube of several hundred metres with scintillation detectors

I assume you are using the "ghost particle" name to try and appeal to people who aren't into science, so you use a cutesy name to try and get people's attention. They watch a video on them, still don't understand what's going on and there aren't any ghosts so they get annoyed and move on. Seems counter productive in my mind. Maybe if you spoke to people like adults/entry-level scientists, as opposed to pandering to them, they might get interested and want to learn more. But no, we have to "Marvelize" everything. It's beyond annoying.
