This is totally unrelated to the actual work here Jeff but I feel I should share this with you. A couple of years back my brother was struggling with anxiety & depression. I know, I know but during that time I was learning how to do a bunch of handy work which is how I discovered your channel. Anyway we would sit down to watch you renovate homes & teach us how to build sheds together. We really learned a lot from you & your attitude gave both of us confidence. It very easily could've been another YT channel or something else but it was truly you that kept us coming back. We couldn't wait to see what you would teach us next but you also made us laugh man & for that I am truly grateful. You helped my brother pull through. Thank you Jeff!

I don't understand who are these 143 ppl, who did not like this video. You are the best. I have finished my basement just by watching your videos, saved almost $25000. Now I have installed drain assembly for my bathtub first floor, and used the same copper assembly(the flexible one you suggested in one of your videos), and installed my new bathtub. Now time to tile my bathtub with porcelain tiles. Thanks once again. Really appreciate.

He’s not only a talented craftsman, but he’s a great teacher.

Articulate, covers how and why you’re doing it a certain way, and keeps it short and simple.

Just watched and glad I did. Going to now invest in the right grinder and start cutting away. I was most concerned with the toilet hole cut. Thank You!!!

I genuinely appreciate this channel, Jeff. Even though I'm over in Finland, the sense applies regardless. Do get that guard back on your grinder (I know it makes sighting harder) and stop breathing dust! We need you around longer to finish up our training, and eventually retire in good health! Absolutely an under-rated channel. Thanks.

for a beginner/diy guy (not me but for them out there), use the grinder guard and u can place your thumb on it to keep the grinder steady and also put the grinder down without it running on you if it catches the blade. Also, u can use your speed square to mark the back of the tile where your front marks are at when plunging instead of eyeing it..usually noobs will miss and have to restart the cut since the outlet cut (in this video) will not hold the outlet lip when screwing it back into place. And use a sponge to keep dust down and keep the tile cooled off just squeeze some water over your cut area. Noobs will apply too much pressure and most likely break the piece a couple times. Just some ideas. Good video none the less

I am beginner who always wanted to learn but never had the chance. Finally I am selling my condo to buy a house and every single contractor was busy in 2021 lol. So I googled and searched Youtube and found you. You saved my life. I love how you show the difference between tiles types and explain very nicely and reasonably. Thank you 🙏 so much. 😍☺️😊

Jeff, I just finished cutting tile for our Master Bath and used the angle grinder cut off wheel you suggested. It worked great! Even cutting the hole for the toilet flange worked just as you said it would. If I may make a suggestion: Wear a face shield and N95 mask. Inhaled silica can lead to silicosis. We need you around for another 50 years so we can continue to learn from your experience! Happy Trails! John

I'm a pre apprentice for tile and screwed up almost every porcelain tile score cut! I'm kinda glad to know they do break easily not in a straight line. I was having so many issues that i felt so bad and felt like a fuck up honestly... it really made be feel awful but after that we went back to some ceramic tiles and i didn't have any issues scoring those!!

You probably won’t see this, but thank you for your diy videos- they are amazingly helpful!

Great video / advice. I just installed porcelain floor tile in a 12 x 12 bathroom and used my grinder to do all cuts. My grinder is my new best friend. I wish I would of seen this video 15 years back. Notches, circles, U shapes, there's nothing you can't cut with a grinder!

I am so grateful for your videos, Jeff! I am a single Mom who's converting my home into an Airbnb for a retirement option. I'm doing my first ever alone tile job on an easy subway tile backsplash. You said to start out small :) You answered so many q's I had in this one video. Watching your videos makes me wanna quit my day job and become a renovator! I like how you are quick, concise, and knowledgeable, and I love your camera guy too - he really knows how to capture great footage. Many blessings to you guys, and please keep putting out great content!

Thank you Jeff so much for this video. The timing couldn't have been more perfect as I did my kitchen backsplash today. I had a scratch tool and snippers all set, but after watching this last night I went out first thing before I started and got the cutting wheel for my grinder. Couldn't have made the job easier and better looking while working so quickly around all the plugs, etc. Tile is all set, wife is happy, and waiting for the grout tomorrow.

As someone who over-thinks to all hells before starting a(anything at all) project, this video has been massively helpful, and I loved the camera work as well as the added information because I would think, "why..-" and then you would explain it or later on you would, or you sometimes say, "you might be thinking, 'why'.." and then you just magically explain the thing!! Thank you so much, this is a very information-rich video for a beginner, and I am currently still going to be breaking up 2 layers of tile before I start my entry and back entry flooring, but thank you so much for alleviating future dilemmas with tools and techniques!

So addicted to your channel, Sir Jeff.

So much so that I resurrected my tile business and have started to train some young bulls for my crew. I regularly send them your videos, as they are so well done and inspire confidence and insight that would normally take months or even years to instill. Easy to set up drills too from your segments. THANK YOU, JEFF!

I've never watched a DIY video this long until the very end. Great presentation, easy to follow and not boring like most DIY videos. All the information is actually useful and not useless. Thankyou.

I love how this guy loves his grinder so much he draws lines with his grinder instead of a pencil.
